Friendly Matches So far
Well we thought the summer weather would have arrived by the middle of June however it has only appeared in fits and starts. This is similar to the form of our stalwarts the Doonhamers. In our five matches so far four of them have been away from home against Southerness, Lochmaben, Thornhill and Workington. Although they were close and sometimes decided on the last hole, they all ended as defeats. Our one home game against the Eden Mallards was a victory. Each match was followed by convivial chats over a late lunch (or an early dinner) where many complimentary comments were passed between the teams. Also we had a first in our match against Southerness two ladies were part of their team. A glance into the future possibly?
Coming up in July are three fixtures – home to Southerness, away to Kirkcudbright, a match everyone looks forward to not only for the great golf but also the wonderful food; a couple of days later and to end the month we are away to Moffat.
We are looking forward to two outcomes this month – better weather and improved away form.
I will update you all in August.
