Bereavement Notice

Alan Cathro

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Alan Cathro, a highly respected member of our club and a cherished figure within the Dumfriesshire golfing community.

Alan served with distinction at both Dumfries and County Golf Club and Crichton Golf Club, embodying dedication and passion for the sport. A fierce competitor on the course, Alan showed remarkable resilience while bravely battling illness over the past few years.

He was admired by many and leaves behind cherished memories that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Alan’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Service at Crichton Church on Monday 18th August at 11.45am, thereafter to Roucan Loch Crematorium. All friends are respectfully invited to attend. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, can be given at the service for Prostate Cancer UK and the Alexandra Unit at DGRI, in memory of Alan.

Senior Pairs Open

Congratulations to Graeme Aitken and James Stewart of the home club who won the seniors pairs with a magnificent 47 points from Derrick Douglas and David Davidson (44pts) also from D&C. Scratch winners were Nicky Bell (powfoot) & John Carr (silloth)

Open Texas Scramble – Official Results

The Open Texas Scramble took place today ( 06/07) under excellent conditions, and we extend our sincere congratulations to the winning team from the home club: Steven Trotter, Calum Trotter, Zac Trotter, and Stephen Jackson, who secured victory with an outstanding score of 11 under par (58). They narrowly edged out the Dumfries and Galloway team by a single stroke in what proved to be a highly competitive event.

Cairn Trophy

The Cairn Trophy was played on Thursday 3rd July, congratulations to Victoria Irvine Mclean and Ruth Hastings from D&C who won with a score of 82-17=65. Katie Fitzsimons (Stranraer)& Linda Scott(Southerness) won the scratch prize with 77.

Junior Open

Albany Cup & Johnstone Rosebowl

Congratulations to Mitchell Jardine from the Home club on winning the Albany Cup with a score of 81-18=63. The girls played for the Johnstone Rosebowl which was won by Alice Murphy form D&G with a score of 80-12=68. Archie Muirhead from D&C took the prize for the 9 hole competitors with 46-17=29.
