Terry Sturgeon
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Terry Sturgeon. Terry joined the County in 1981 and enjoyed playing golf with his friends in the senior section. He was a dedicated volunteer, often serving as a starter at our open competitions, and he always enjoyed bringing his family to the clubhouse for meals.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time.
Beautiful morning for a site visit and check up on our fantastic new facility. Germination almost completed couple final touches still to take place but overall delighted to be closer to the finish line.
We lost nearly 70 days with weather from 26th April until end August which has killed the timeline but it’s our intention to have a little test run over the coming month with our members & full operating capacity in the near future! What a fantastic addition to our club!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Turner on Monday 23rd September.
David joined Dumfries and County in 1944 at the age of 11 years. A very active member David went on to serve on committee before becoming Captain in 1983 and then became Match Secretary, a position he held for 18 years. In 2010 he was elected an Honorary member of Dumfries and County Golf Club for his outstanding service and dedication to the club. After a member proposal in 2013 the 14th hole was renamed Turners Way in his honour given that he had an incredible 16 holes in one at that hole during his playing days.

On behalf of all the members of we extend our sincere condolences to David’s family at this sad time.
