Derek Cravens

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Derek’s passing on 8th December 2025.

Derek joined Dumfries and County in 1987 and remained a valued member for many years, until his health declined in recent times. On behalf of all our members, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.

Funeral Arrangements
The service will take place at William Jardine Chapel of Rest, 23 Terregles Street, Dumfries, on Tuesday, 23rd December at 12:30pm, followed by internment at St Michael’s Cemetery.

All friends are respectfully invited to attend. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, can be given at the service in memory of Derek.

Eddie Bell

Eddie Bell

Eddie was a longstanding member of Dumfries and County having joined in February 1973, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Eddies family and friends at this difficult time.

A service to celebrate Eddie’s life will take place at Roucan Loch Crematorium on Tuesday 4th November at 1pm.

John Farrow

We are saddened to hear of the passing of John Farrow on 9th September 2025. John had been a member of Dumfries and County for almost 60 years, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. On behalf of everyone at the club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

George Adams

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Adams, who left us on Wednesday, 20th August 2025.

George became a member of the County in October 1965, and remained a cherished part of our Club for an incredible 60 years. Over the decades, he contributed immensely—serving on the committee for several years and proudly taking on the role of Club Captain in 2006.

George was truly one of life’s great characters. His warmth, humour, and presence brought joy to all who knew him, and he will be profoundly missed around the Golf Club.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Raymond Moffat

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Raymond Moffat. Raymond was a valued member of Dumfries and County for over 40 years, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. On behalf of everyone at the club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time.

Alan Cathro

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Alan Cathro, a highly respected member of our club and a cherished figure within the Dumfriesshire golfing community.

Alan served with distinction at both Dumfries and County Golf Club and Crichton Golf Club, embodying dedication and passion for the sport. A fierce competitor on the course, Alan showed remarkable resilience while bravely battling illness over the past few years.

He was admired by many and leaves behind cherished memories that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to Alan’s family and friends during this difficult time.

Service at Crichton Church on Monday 18th August at 11.45am, thereafter to Roucan Loch Crematorium. All friends are respectfully invited to attend. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, can be given at the service for Prostate Cancer UK and the Alexandra Unit at DGRI, in memory of Alan.
